The Footie Report (“we”, “us”) operates footiereport.com, an independent site that collects headlines about world football and links to the publishers who reported them. This policy explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Questions about it can go to info@footiereport.com.
In short: there is no account to create and we never ask for your name, email address or any other personal detail in order to read the site. We do not sell your personal information for money. The site carries advertising, and our advertising partners — principally Google — may use cookies to choose which ads you see. You can turn personalized advertising off using the links in section 3.
Information you send us. If you email tips@footiereport.com or info@footiereport.com, we receive whatever you put in that message, including your email address. We use it only to respond and to follow up on what you sent, and we keep it no longer than we need it for that purpose.
Technical information collected automatically. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like every web server, GitHub's servers record requests made to the site, which can include your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time of the request. That logging is carried out by GitHub as our hosting provider and is governed by GitHub's privacy statement. We do not have access to these logs as an identifiable record of individual visitors.
Audience measurement. We count visits using GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service. It records that a page was viewed and, where available, the site you arrived from. It does not set cookies, does not store your IP address, does not build a profile of you and does not follow you to other websites. We use it only to see which stories are being read.
Advertising. We display advertising served by Google AdSense and, through it, other advertising vendors. These vendors may set cookies or read device identifiers in your browser in order to select, deliver, cap the frequency of, and measure the performance of the ads you see. We do not receive your identity from them.
Opting out stops advertising being personalized. It does not remove advertising from the site — you will still see ads, chosen on the basis of the page you are reading rather than your browsing history.
If you are in one of these regions, we ask for your consent through a consent management platform before any advertising or non-essential cookies are used. You can decline, and you can change your answer later using the link in the site footer. If you decline, you will see non-personalized advertising instead.
Where this policy applies to you under the GDPR or UK GDPR, our legal bases are your consent (for advertising and non-essential cookies) and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and measuring the site in aggregate. You have the right to ask for access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting what was done before you withdrew it. Write to info@footiereport.com. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, and under similar laws in other states, the use of advertising cookies described above may be treated as a “sale” or a “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You can opt out of that use through the controls in section 3. We also honor the Global Privacy Control signal where your browser sends one. Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to have it deleted or corrected, to opt out of targeted advertising, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights. To make a request, email info@footiereport.com.
This site is intended for a general adult audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email info@footiereport.com and we will delete it.
Nearly everything on the front page is a link to an article published by someone else. We do not control those sites and this policy does not apply to them. Once you follow a headline you are subject to the privacy policy of the publisher you have gone to.
We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law does. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and the current version always lives at this address.
